A man walked away empty-handed after trying to break into a business early Thursday morning, thanks to bars installed on the door following repeated break-ins, say police.

Officers responded to an alarm activation at a Silvercreek Parkway North business, near Willow Road, shortly after 1 a.m. and found the premises secure. The business owner arrived and reviewed security footage which showed a male repeatedly striking the front glass doors but unable to get inside, states a news release.

The bars were installed following the last break-in, police were told.

The suspect is described as tall and thin. At the time, he was wearing dark clothing, a hoodie and a mask.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Const. Derek Vanden Enden at 519-824-1212, ext. 7107 or email [email protected]. To leave an anonymous tip, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or visit www.csgw.tips.
