A Guelph male who holds a G1 driver’s licence was taken off the road Thursday after he was caught driving more than double the speed limit on Stone Road East.

Just before 7 p.m. a Guelph police officer on patrol clocked the male’s motor vehicle driving 128 km/h in a 60 km/h zone on Stone Road near Village Green Drive. The 23-year-old Guelph male has a G1 license, which requires drivers to only drive with a fully-licensed passenger. He was alone when he was stopped.

The male was charged with stunt driving, speeding and several other Highway Traffic Act offences. His driver’s licence was immediately suspended for seven days and his vehicle impounded for the same time period.
