Number of firearms seized as police raid residence near Rockwood

TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH/ERAMOSA - On April 17, 2019, members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) and the OPP Provincial Weapons Enforcement Unit (PWEU) executed a search warrant at a residence on Fifth Line near Rockwood.

As a result, OPP seized a number of firearms and prohibited firearm accessories, currency, ammunition, drugs and drug production equipment. Charged is Richard Gordon Nichol Good, 58-year-olds of Guelph-Eramosa. He was held for bail.

Criminal Code charges include:

  • Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition (two counts)
  • Breach of Firearms Regulation-Store firearm or restricted weapon (two counts)
  • Unauthorized Importing of a Firearm, Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  • Unauthorized Importing of Components or Parts for use in the making of Automatic Firearms
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000

Cannabis Act Charges Include:

  • Possess, produce, sell, distribute or import anything with intention to use it to produce, sell or distribute illicit cannabis
  • Cultivate, propagate or harvest more than four cannabis plants
  • Alter or offer to alter the chemical or physical properties of cannabis by the use of an organic solvent.

The estimated dollar value of the seized drugs and currency is valued at $300,000.
