Officer has leg pinned during impaired driver arrest

Through investigation it was revealed that the vehicle was reported stolen earlier out of Guelph

On July 5, 2019, at approximately 3:00 a.m., Guelph Police received a complaint of a possible impaired driver in the area of Pleasant Road and Stevenson Sreet North.  When officers arrived, the reported vehicle was in a parked position. Through investigation it was revealed that the vehicle was reported stolen earlier out of Guelph. A male was found inside the vehicle and officers arrested him for Impaired Care and Control, Possession of Stolen Property and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.

During the investigation and arrest, the male’s vehicle moved forward pinning one of the officer’s leg on his cruiser. The officer was sent to hospital with minor injuries and subsequently released.
