Officers discover loaded firearms during vehicle search

On July 25, 2018 at approximately 4 p.m., Guelph Police were called by a concerned citizen reporting a possible impaired male in a vehicle parked on Preston Street. Officers attended and through police investigation the male was arrested for impaired - care and control. A search of the vehicle incident to arrest revealed ammunition and two loaded firearms – a rifle and a shotgun.

A 65-year-old Cambridge male is charged with impaired - care and control, over 80 - care and control and two counts of unsafe storage of a firearm. He will appear in court on Sept. 7, 2018.
