On Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2017 at approximately 9 p.m. a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer located the subject of a traffic complaint on Garafraxa Street, Fergus.
While speaking with the driver the officer observed signs of impairment by alcohol. He was arrested and brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.
50-year-old James K. MacGillivary of Guelph has been charged with Over 80 and Drive Motor Vehicle while Impaired contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on Sept. 29, 2017 to answer to the charge.

While speaking with the driver the officer observed signs of impairment by drug. A Drug Recognition Evaluator confirmed the driver was impaired by drugs.
25-year-old Jeffery John Cameron Rider of Guelph has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle while Impaired by Drug contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on Sept. 29, 2017 to answer to the charge.
On Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017 at approximately 3 a.m. a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer located the subject of a traffic complaint on North Water Street West, Mount Forest.
While speaking with the driver the officer observed signs of impairment by alcohol. The officer attempted to arrest the driver who broke free and fled on foot. The following day the driver surrendered himself to police.
21-year-old Dean Michael Hershey of Arthur has been charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Escape Lawful Custody contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on Sept. 5, 2017 to answer to the charge.
