OPP say heavily intoxicated and paranoid man charged after calling 911

TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH – On May 31, 2020 at approximately 3:15 a.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a 911 call from a payphone on George St. in Arthur.

Officers patrolled the area and located a heavily intoxicated person in a paranoid state nearby and placed them under arrest for public intoxication. During a search incident to arrest, police located a baggie containing methamphetamine.

Jeff Grein, 59 years old, of Wellington North Township has been charged with Possession of Methamphetamine contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph on Aug. 4, 2020 to answer to the charge.
