OPP suspect fowl play in case of purloined poultry

On Monday June 19, 2017 Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to theft of birds from County Road 12, Township of Wellington North.

The complainant advised police that he and his neighbor jointly share and look after their birds. Together they own 25 chickens, seven turkeys (two of which are prize birds and are black in colour with hooked beaks) and 15 laying hens, a total monetary value of approximately $800.00.  

Investigation has revealed that the birds may have been stolen from their yards Saturday June 17, 2017 between 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.

Police are currently examining evidence gathered from the scene and are asking any person with information regarding this to contact the Wellington County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
