Oustanding suspect arrested in April break and enter investigation

TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH-ERAMOSA - On May 7, 2021, members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) arrested and charged the outstanding suspect in relation to a break and enter in progress that occurred at a residence on April 28, 2021.

At approximately 2:45 a.m., officers responded to a report of a break and enter in progress at a vacant residence on Highway 7 near Jones Baseline, Guelph-Eramosa Township. It was reported that two males were in the residence and one was armed with a handgun. One suspect was arrested at the time of the incident and taken into custody while the other fled the scene.

Chad Donald Hepburn, 48-years-old of Flamborough Township, has been charged with break and enter, and theft under $5,000 contrary to the Criminal Code.

The Accused will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice - Guelph at a later date.
