Two men are facing impaired driving charges after seperate traffic stops by Guelph Police Service officers.
At 6:33 p.m. on Friday, Guelph Police was notified of a motor vehicle that was swerving on the road and stopped it near the intersection of Speedvale Avenue West and Edinburgh Road North.
A 60-year-old Acton man was spoken with and ultimately failed a standardized field sobriety test. He was then arrested.
The man has been charged with operation while impaired – drugs.
His driver’s license was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
He will appear in court on Nov. 24.
In an incident on Sunday, police observed a vehicle crossing the centre dividing line while driving in Guelph's downtown core.
A traffic stop was initiated and after speaking with the adult male driver, he was arrested.
A 37 year old Guelph male has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration
His driver’s license was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
He will appear in court on Nov. 24.
