Paisley Road fire sends one to hospital

Fire's origin and cause under investigation

On Sunday, October 13, 2019, at approximately 17:14, the Guelph Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 486 Paisley Rd.  

Firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from the back of the house. The two occupants that were present, escaped and one was taken to hospital.

A charged hose line was advanced and used to bring the fire under control and subsequently extinguished. The house was cleared of smoke using a positive pressure fan and overhaul was conducted to check for fire extension.

The cause of the fire and an estimate of the damage as a result of this incident is unknown at the time of this media release.

A Fire Prevention Officer was called to the scene to investigate the origin and cause.
