GUELPH, ONT - On October 1, 2016 at approximately 1:00 a.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended the intersection of Highway 6 and College Avenue, Guelph for a pedestrian being struck by a motor vehicle that was travelling southbound.

The male pedestrian has been identified as 20-year-old Uriah HARTUNG of Guelph and he remains at a Hamilton Hospital with life threatening injuries.  The driver of the 2010 Chevrolet has been identified as 25-year-old Lea RAMOS of Newmarket.

Wellington County OPP is continuing with this investigation and any person with information regarding this incident should contact the Wellington County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

GUELPH, ONT. - On October 1, 2016 at approximately 1 a.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended the intersection of Highway 6 and College Avenue, Guelph for a pedestrian being struck by a motor vehicle that was travelling southbound.

Guelph Fire Department and Guelph-Wellington Emergency Medical Services (EMS) attended the location.

As a result of this collision, the male pedestrian was transported to a local Hospital by ambulance with life threatening injuries and then transferred to a Hamilton Hospital. The driver of the 2010 Chevrolet was taken to a local Hospital by ambulance and treated for minor injuries.

West Region OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) are assisting with this investigation and the southbound lanes of Highway 6 between Wellington Street and Stone Road was closed for approximately three hours. Northbound lanes are open.
