A Guelph male faces several charges after he allegedly threatened to kill another male while armed with a metal pipe early Wednesday morning.

Shortly after midnight, Guelph police were called to an apartment unit on Wyndham Street North. The tenant advised someone had buzzed his unit and claimed to have a package for the tenant. When the tenant went downstairs he saw a male unknown to him outside in an aggressive stance and holding a metal pipe.

The male threatened the tenant before walking away when the tenant began taking photos of him.

Police located the male a short distance away. A search of his person turned up various pieces of identification and other documents in other people’s names.

A 45-year-old Guelph male is charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, uttering threats and possessing stolen property. He was also arrested on an outstanding warrant for theft and unauthorized use of a credit card.

The male was held for a bail hearing Wednesday.
