On Oct. 15, 2018, at approximately 6:06 p.m., Guelph Police were called to the area of Silvercreek Parkway and Speedvale Avenue in regard to a hit and run.
An alert citizen followed the responsible vehicle all the way to the area of Gordon Street and Kortright Road. The vehicle was observed swerving all over the road and driving into oncoming traffic.
Police stopped the vehicle on Gordon Street and spoke with the male driver. After speaking with the driver, he was arrested for Impaired Driving.
Caleb Stephens, a 21-year-old Collingwood male was charged with Impaired Driving, Over 80, Fail to Remain at the Scene of an Accident, and Careless Driving. Stephens is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 2, 2018.
