Police continue off road collision investigation

On Saturday Sept. 2, 2017 at approximately 5:30 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a serious collision involving two vehicles driving off highway near Wellington Road 39 and Woodlawn Road, Guelph.

A Nissan pickup truck and Subaru sedan collided head on with each other on a blind corner in a vacant field. OPP as well as Guelph Fire Department and Guelph-Wellington Paramedics Services attended and transported 9 people with injuries to local hospital.

A 13-year-old boy from the Guelph area was transported by air ambulance to a trauma centre. The severity of his injuries has been reduced and he is in stable condition. All other parties are considered to have minor injuries.

Police continue to investigate the collision and charges may be pending.
