Police dog helps apprehend break and enter suspects

On Nov. 25, 2017 at approximately 4 a.m., suspects broke into a commercial compound on Silvercreek Parkway North. Police were alerted to the break-in and arrested one suspect a short distance away and continued to search the area for the remaining suspects. Guelph Police service dog General tracked a second suspect and arrested him as he tried to hide in a field.

A suspicious vehicle entered into the area during the search and when police stopped it to investigate, the two occupants inside were also involved in the break-in and arrested.

A 31-year-old Guelph man was charged with break and enter and two counts of breach probation.

A 32-year-old Kitchener man was charged with break and enter, possession of break in instruments, and possession of stolen property.

A 30-year-old Guelph woman was charged with break and enter and obstruct police.

A 17-year-old Guelph male was charged with break and enter and five counts of breach of probation.

All four of these people were held in custody to appear in bail court.
