WELLINGTON - On Sept. 25, 2017 at approximately 6:20 a.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were advised of an attempted robbery that had just occurred in Mount Forest.

Investigation revealed that the victim was walking northbound on Fergus Street South between Wellington Street East and Durham Street East in Mount Forest when the suspect came from behind and attempted to grab his backpack which he had slung over his shoulders. 

The victim was assaulted but managed to run away with their backpack and call police.

The suspect is described as a white male approximately six feet tall with a medium build, in his early-to-mid-20s. He has tanned skin and a five o'clock shadow. He was wearing a dark grey plain hoodie with the hood up and blue jeans. He was last seen on Wellington Street East.
