Police investigation leads to seizure of drugs worth nearly $18,000

A Guelph man is facing multiple drug trafficking charges as a result

In June of 2020 members of the Guelph Police Drug Unit began a drug trafficking investigation. Officers made observations consistent with drug trafficking in the area of Greengate Rd and Silvercreek Parkway North.

On June 30, 2020 at approximately 6:30 pm members of the Tactics and Rescue Team and the Drug Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Greengate Rd. Officers located 40.5g of blue fentanyl, 25.9g of purple fentanyl, 45.4g of cocaine, drug packaging, two digital scales and $4,375.00 in Canadian currency. Total value of the fentanyl seized is $13,300 and the cocaine is valued at $4,500.

A 27-year-old Guelph male has been charged with trafficking a controlled substance (X2), possession for the purpose of trafficking (X2) and breach of release order. The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.
