Police locate stolen vehicle

Due to a concern for public safety, at no point did police engage in a pursuit

On April 19, 2018 at approximately 9 p.m., Guelph police officers observed a vehicle in the east end of the city that was confirmed to have been stolen. It is alleged the vehicle then started being driven in an erratic and dangerous manner. Due to a concern for public safety, at no point did police engage in a pursuit.

Eventually, the vehicle was located in the north end of the city and the driver fled on foot. The driver was located at a north end motel and arrested. A 22-year-old Guelph male was charged with possession of property, dangerous driving, disqualified driving and two counts of breaching his probation order. He was held for a bail hearing.
