A Guelph male has been arrested in connection with burglaries at two downtown businesses last week.

Last Friday at approximately 6:45 a.m. a male forced his way into a business on Wyndham Street North and stole property including two security cameras and a speaker. Two days later two males forced their way into a business on Wellington Street East and stole a tablet computer, cash register and other items.

The Guelph Police Service Break Enter Auto Theft (BEAT) Unit took over the investigations and identified a suspect. On Thursday, just before midnight, the male was located in the downtown core and arrested.

He was found to be on several release conditions for charges including break and enter and robbery. One of his conditions prohibits him from possessing tools used for breaking and entering.

A 38-year-old Guelph male is charged with two counts of break and enter as well as possessing break and enter tools and failing to comply with a bail condition. He will appear in a Guelph bail court Friday.
