DUFFERIN COUNTY - On April 21, 2018 at approximately 3 p.m., a local fisherman located the human remains of a young male in the water immediately north of the Belwood Bridge on Wellington County Road 26, within the Village of Belwood.

A post mortem examination was conducted on Monday, April 23, 2018 at the Office of the Chief Coroner and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service (OCC - OFPS) located in Toronto. Today, OCC-OFPS have confirmed the found human remains are of three-year-old Kaden Young.

Kaden had been swept away in a flooded and fast flowing Grand River on February 21, 2018 and since that time, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) utilized resources that included: Frontline Uniform Officers from Central and West Region Detachments, Emergency Response Teams (ERT) from Central and West Regions, Canine, Aviation Services, Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU), the Urban Search and Rescue Team (UCRT), Dufferin - Caledon and Wellington OPP Crime Units and Forensic Identification Services.

The OPP thanks all the volunteers, community groups and businesses that provided continuous support and assistance with and during the search efforts over the past two months.
