Police respond to armed robbery at Kortright Road Scotiabank (update)

6:10 p.m. update

On Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at approximately 12:30 p.m., two males entered the Scotiabank located at 170 Kortright Road West in the city of Guelph. Both males were described as black males with slender builds wearing dark clothing.

They had much of their faces covered and at least one handgun was brandished. Demands for money were made and the suspects made away with an undisclosed quantity of cash. It is believed that they left the scene in a black four door sedan.

The investigation is continuing. Anyone who may have information about this incident, or anyone with dashcams in their vehicle who may have been in the area of the robbery between 12 noon and 12:45 p.m. are asked to contact Detective Sergeant Dave Begin at (519) 824-1212 #7226 or email at [email protected]. On March 13, 2019 at approximately 12:30 p.m., Guelph Police went to the Scotiabank located at 170 Kortright Rd. W. for the report of a gunpoint robbery. No further information is being released at this time to protect the integrity of the investigation.

No one was injured, but two people were transported to hospital for precautionary reasons.
