Police respond to reverse jail break

Police say staff at a decommissioned facility noticed three people on video equipment

Security staff at the decommissioned correctional facility on York Road observed three people on internal video equipment inside the building in the evening hours of Apr. 7 and contacted police. An extensive search of the facility located the three people who were arrested.  

Joseph Hawkins, 24 years of age, and Kimberly Osmond, 20 years of age, both from Guelph, are charged with break and enter and were released to appear in court on May 26, 2017.

The third person is a 25-year-old man from Guelph who was also charged with break and enter and an additional charge of breach of probation. He was held in custody to appear in bail court.
