Suspended driver further charged

At approximately 6:30 p.m. on Apr. 11, patrol officers observed a U-Haul van being driven in the area of Imperial Road by a male that was known to be suspended from operating a motor vehicle.

The vehicle was stopped and the driver was arrested. Further investigation learned that the U-Haul had been taken without consent and after a search, the male was found to be in possession of stolen property, break-in tools and a quantity of drugs believed to be methamphetamine.

A 28-year-old Guelph man is charged a total of 13 property, drug, driving and breach of probation charges. He was held in custody to appear in bail court.
