Police searching for driver involved in collision with child

The incident reportedly happened near the intersection of Victoria Road and Hadati Road on Monday morning

The Guelph Police Service would like to speak to a driver who fled the scene following a collision with a child cyclist Monday morning.

Between 8:35 a.m. and 8:45 a.m. Monday, an 11-year-old male was riding on the sidewalk of Victoria Road North near Hadati Road. In the intersection the cyclist ran into the passenger side of a car which was turning to go northbound on Victoria Road North.

The driver of the car did not stop or speak to the child. The child was not injured but his bicycle was damaged.

The car was described as a red four-door sedan with a roof rack and tinted windows. The impact was on the passenger door but it is not known if it sustained any damage.
