TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON - On Sunday, Feb. 25, 2018 Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a shoplifting theft at Zerhs Markets on Tower Street, Fergus.

Staff observed the suspect leaving the store with a cart full of groceries and small appliances without paying. The value of goods stolen is estimated to be approximately $600.

OPP are asking the public's assistance in identifying the suspect who is believed to have left in a white GMC Acadia SUV. Eye witnesses describe the suspect as a white, heavy set woman, in her mid to late 20s, wearing a "Lakers" t-shirt and white boots.

Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or submit a tip on-line at www.csgw.tips. You may be eligible for a reward from Crime Stoppers of up to $2,000.

OPP would like to remind you that when someone shoplifts we are all affected. Retailers account for those losses in their prices.

It leaves honest customers "paying the bill for those who steal." If you suspect someone is fencing stolen property contact police or Crime Stoppers or we'll all be paying for it.
