Police seek whereabouts of suspects in drug investigation

On July 19, 2018, the Guelph Police Drug Unit concluded a fentanyl trafficking investigation which culminated in the execution of a CDSA search warrant with the assistance of the Tactical Response Unit. A CDSA search warrant was executed at a residence in the northwest end of the City of Guelph. 

Police seized two firearms, cocaine and purple fentanyl/heroin which is believed to be a similar substance to the fentanyl referred to in the Public Alert. 

As a result Zane Andrews and Jessica Withey, both of Guelph, are currently wanted for multiple drug trafficking and firearm offences. They may also have ties to the Hamilton area.

If you see these individuals or know there whereabouts please do not approach them and instead contact police or crime stoppers 1-800-222-TIPS (8477)

On July 9 2018, the Guelph Wellington Drug Strategy released a public health alert in response to three recent overdose deaths and the suspected presence of purple fentanyl/heroin in the community. On July 10, 2018, the Guelph Police issued a further warning to the public in regards to the presence of the purple fentanyl in our community.

Guelph Police want to continue to remind people to reduce their risk take the following steps:

  • Carry Naloxone
  • Never use alone
  • Use the Overdose Prevention Site which is supervised by health professionals at Guelph’s Community Health Centre
