Police seek witnesses to two Friday collisions

In one incident, both vehicles suffered severe damage and drivers, passengers transported to hospital

On Friday, April 19, 2019 at approximately 8:30 p.m., a cyclist was travelling north on Wyndham Street South approaching the intersection of Quebec Street. As the cyclist came to a stop, a motor vehicle approached from the rear and struck the bicycle causing the operator to fall to the ground. The driver of the vehicle stopped briefly before leaving the area west on Quebec Street.

The vehicle is described as a blue-coloured sedan and the driver, a white male, approximately 40 years of age and balding. The vehicle may have damage to the front centre portion of the bumper.

On Friday, April 19, 2019 at approximately 9:50 p.m., Guelph Police were called to a collision involving an eastbound Ford Escape and a westbound Hyundai Elantra at the intersection of Woodlawn Road West and the Hanlon Parkway. Both vehicles suffered severe damages and both drivers along with the vehicle passengers were transported to the Guelph General Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Police are actively investigating the circumstances of this collision and are looking to speak to anyone who may have been a witness.
