On Sept. 10, 2019, the HEAT unit (High Enforcement Action Team) using information received from the Drug Unit went to the to locate a wanted female in the West end of the city. At 1:54 p.m., a traffic stop was conducted in the area of Inkerman Street and Alma Street. The female who was a passenger in the vehicle was arrested without incident. Search incident to arrest located three prohibited knives and a large quantity of various controlled substances.
Subsequently, the male driver of the vehicle was also arrested. Over $13,000 in drugs were seized including crystal meth, cocaine/crack cocaine, oxycodone, percocet, Tylenol 3 and cannabis. Over $1,200 was also seized.
The 30-year-old Guelph female has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking x3, breach probation, possession of a prohibited weapon x3, possession for the purpose of selling cannabis, possession of illicit cannabis as well as breach probation on the warrant. She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
The 33-year-old Guelph male has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking x3, possession of a prohibited weapon x3, possession for the purpose of selling cannabis, possession of illicit cannabis as drive while under suspension (HTA). He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
