Police seize suspected cocaine at RIDE check

The accused is also charged with failing to provide a breath sample upon demand

TOWNSHIP OF PUSLINCH - On Friday May 10, 2019 members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) check on Gore Road in Puslinch Township.

At approximately 9:45 p.m. the driver of a white passenger vehicle entered the R.I.D.E. check.

While speaking with the driver, officers suspected they had consumed alcohol. The driver refused to provide a breath sample upon demand. The accused was subsequently arrested.

A search of the accused resulted in the seizure of a small quantity of cocaine.

As a result, Stanley M. Walton, 41 years old of Cambridge, has been charged with:

  • Failure to Comply with Breath Demand
  • Possession of Cocaine

A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and seven-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.

He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Court on June 14, 2019.
