Popping a wheelie leads to stunt driving charge

Driver's licence and off-road motorcycle were seized for seven days

TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON - On Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at approximately 8:55 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police officer was on general patrol travelling westbound on Wellington Road 18 when he observed a 2017 off-road motorcycle travelling eastbound. The officer heard the engine rev and observed the driver lift the front tire off the ground and proceed down the roadway on one tire for a brief period of time.

Twenty-five-year-old Jesse Walsh of Wellington North Township has been charged with drive a motor vehicle while performing a stunt contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and is scheduled to appear in Guelph Provincial Offences Court on Sept. 4, 2019. The driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
