A Guelph man faces charges after someone was seen with a possible firearm near an elementary school Friday afternoon.
Approximately 2:45 p.m. police were called to a school in the city’s north end after a staff member saw a male on school property holding what appeared to be a handgun and pointing it at election signs. Officers arrived minutes later to find the school’s principal had approached the man and seized a realistic-looking toy gun.
A 43-year-old Guelph man is charged with possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose and mischief to property. He was held for a bail hearing Monday.
