Recovery of stolen truck results in numerous charges

Police say two accused found in possession of prohibited weapons, break-in tools, fentanyl and more

On the afternoon of July 16, 2019, members of the Guelph Police Service located a stolen Ford F-150 parked out front of a residence on the west end of the city. Police located and arrested a female inside the vehicle and a male inside the residence. Searches incident to arrest revealed they were in possession of cans of bear spray, prohibited knives, credit cards not in their names, identity documents not in their names, break-in tools and a small quantity of fentanyl.

A 20-year-old Guelph female has been charged with:
    •    Possession of stolen property over $5,000 – s. 355(a) CC
    •    Occupant in a stolen motor vehicle – s. 335(1) CC
    •    Possession of a prohibited weapon x2 – s. 92(2) CC
    •    Possession of stolen property under $5,000 – s. 355(b) CC
    •    Breach probation – s. 733.1(1) CC
    •    Possession of credit card – s. 342(1)(c) CC

A 23-year-old Guelph male has been charged with:
    •    Possession of stolen property over $5,000 – s. 355(a) CC
    •    Occupant in a stolen motor vehicle – s. 335(1) CC
    •    Possession of a prohibited weapon x3 – s. 92(2) CC
    •    Possession of stolen property under $5,000 – s. 355(b) CC
    •    Possession of break and enter instruments – s. 351(1) CC
    •    Possession of a controlled substance – schedule I – fentanyl – s. 4(1) CDSA
    •    Breach probation – s. 733.1(1) CC
    •    Possession of a prohibited weapon contrary to order x4 – s. 117.01(1) CC
    •    Possession of identity documents – s. 56.1(1) CC

They will appear in court for a bail hearing on July 17.
