Refusal to give up hat leads to assault

On Mar. 1, 2017 at 8 a.m. a Guelph resident was walking under the Wyndham St. bridge towards Carden St, Guelph. A lone male subject unknown to the victim blocked the victim’s path demanding his hat, which the victim refused to turn over.

As a result the male subject punched and kicked the victim repeatedly until the hat was stolen by the subject from the victim.

A 38-year-old Guelph male of no fixed address was arrested and charged for robbery, assault, uttering threats to cause bodily harm, and seven counts of breaching his probation. The male was held in custody and will appear in bail court on Mar. 2, 2017.
