Reports of broken window and assault lead to arrest of Fergus man

CENTRE WELLINGTON - On Wednesday Feb. 14, 2018, members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a mischief that occurred on Grand Place Drive, Fergus. It was reported that a male, known to the victim, had broken a window in a residence and fled. Police attended and were informed that this was the second mischief the male committed, previously having damaged a door at the residence.

While patrolling for the male, police received a second report involving the male. He had allegedly assaulted another man at St. Andrew Street near St. David Street, Fergus. Shortly thereafter the male was located and arrested.

Twenty-six-year-old Christopher Robert Stevenson of Fergus is charged with assault, two counts of mischief under $5,000 and three counts of failing to comply with conditions contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He was held for bail.
