Members of the Guelph Police Service Traffic Unit and Neighbourhood Services operated a RIDE during the evening of Dec. 7 and into the morning of Dec. 8, 2019.

Of the approximately 700 + motorists checked, 12 roadside tests were conducted.

Two of those tests resulted in three (3) day drivers licence suspensions being issued to the drivers who were found to have a BAC between 50 mgs and 80 mgs of alcohol in 100 ml of blood.

Two motorists failed the roadside screening tests and as a result were arrested for the offence of operating a conveyance with 80 plus mgs of alcohol in 100 ml of blood.

Drivers are reminded that having any alcohol in your system when operating a motor vehicle is a bad idea. Think ahead and plan your way home. With the holiday season upon us RIDE programs will be running at various locations throughout the city.

Please drink responsibly and if you drink, don’t drive.
