Road temporarily closed Monday night for vehicle fire

A Guelph road was closed for approximately an hour Monday evening after a vehicle was destroyed by fire.

Emergency services were called at 9:30 p.m. to Victoria Road South near MacAlister Boulevard. A female advised she was driving when she observed flames in the bed of her pickup and immediately pulled over. The fire spread quickly and the truck was destroyed. There were no injuries reported.

Victoria Road South was closed for just over one hour while the fire was extinguished by the Guelph Fire Department and the scene was cleaned up. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
