On Nov. 17, 2019 at 12:48 a.m., an adult female security guard working the door of a bar located in the downtown core of the City of Guelph dropped money on the ground. An adult male patron picked up the money and put it in his pocket. The male refused to give the money back and a confrontation ensued. The patron ended up shoving the security guard, grabbing her by the arm, swinging her around and throwing her to the floor. The patron then fled on foot.

The security guard sustained bruising and swelling to numerous areas of her body and required medical attention.
