Several charges for Guelph man following incident in Kitchener

KITCHENER – Waterloo Regional Police arrested a Guelph man after a physical altercation occurred in the area of Westwood Drive and Westmount Road in Kitchener. 

On June 24 at approximately 11:20 p.m., police responded to a report of a disturbance at a convenience store in Kitchener. 

The victim, a 23-year-old Waterloo man, was dropped off at a local hospital and later transported to an out-of-region hospital with serious injuries resulting from a cut. 

Through investigation, police arrested a 31-year-old Guelph man. The man was charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. 

The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing. 

The investigation is ongoing.
