Skateboarder charged after being struck by vehicle

On June 1, 2020 at 5:09 p.m., the Guelph Police Traffic Unit attended to the intersection of Wellington Street and Gordon Street in the City of Guelph, to investigate a motor vehicle collision involving a motor vehicle and a skateboarder. Fortunately, the skateboarder suffered only minor injuries. However, the skateboarder was charged under the City of Guelph bylaw for skateboard on a highway.  

Guelph Police would like to remind all skateboarders of the City of Guelph Bylaw prohibiting skate boarding on City of Guelph highways and sidewalks. The City of Guelph has one of the best skate parks in Southern Ontario at the corner of Wellington Street West and Edinburgh Road South. Please remember to wear a helmet, ride safely and have fun!
