Sobriety check turns up drug charges

Subsequent search revealed marijuana as well as crystal meth and a quantity of pills

TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH/ERAMOSA - On Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at approximately 1:30 a.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) performed a sobriety check of a driver on Stone Road East, Near Guelph.

While speaking with the driver, officers formed grounds that the driver and passenger were in possession of marijuana. Both were arrested with subsequent search revealing the marijuana as well as crystal meth and a quantity of pills.

20-year-old Jordan Ashley Moynihan previously of Guelph has been charged with suspended driving contrary to the Highway Traffic Act (HTA), Possession of Marijuana contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA), Obstruct Police and two-counts of Failing to Comply with a Recognizance Order contrary to the Criminal Code (CC). She is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on July 28, 2017.

21-year-old Mathew James Joseph Hanson previously of Guelph has been charged with Possession of Methamphetamine contrary to the CDSA and Failing to Comply with a Probation Order contrary to the CC. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on July 25, 2017.
