Sometime between 2 a.m. and 8 a.m. on Oct. 29, a Queen Street building was broken into and six high-end bicycles were stolen along with other property. Just after 11 a.m. on Oct. 30, police were investigating a U-Haul van in the area of Mason Court and noticed one of the bikes that had been taken from the Queen Street incident inside the vehicle. A male that was seen in the van was arrested a short distance away.

The 22-year-old Guelph male is charged with break and enter, possession of stolen property, two counts of breach of probation, breach of undertaking, breach of recognizance and possession of break-in instruments. He was held in custody and will appear in bail court today.

At approximately 5:15 a.m. this morning, an alert resident on Renfrew Place noticed someone in his neighbour’s unlocked garage going through a vehicle. With the neighbour’s assistance, police searched the area and the male in question was located and arrested.

The 24-year-old Guelph male was charged with possession of break-in instruments, obstruct police, breach of recognizance and possession of a controlled substance. He was held in custody and will appear in bail court today.
