Guelph police say a Guelph female was arrested for impaired operation Tuesday evening after staff at a west end business stopped her from driving away.
Approximately 6:30 p.m., staff from a business on Paisley Road near Imperial Road South called to report an intoxicated female had come into the store and then was attempting to leave in her car. The female was showing obvious signs of impairment and had a strong odour of alcoholic beverage on her breath. She was arrested and taken to the police station, where testing revealed she had more than three times the legal limit of alcohol in her system.
A 31-year-old Guelph female is charge with impaired operation and impaired operation – blood alcohol. Her driver’s licence was immediately suspended for 90 days and her vehicle impounded for seven days. She will appear in a Guelph court Oct. 19.
