Storefront heavily damaged as suspects yank door off hinges, tear open ATM

GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP - On Monday, Dec. 17, 2018 at approximately 4:15 a.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an intrusion alarm at a gas station on Wellington Road 124 near Wellington Road 32, south of Guelph.

Upon arrival, officers observed the front door of the business had been yanked off the hinges, allowing the suspects access to the ATM. Investigation revealed that the suspects were able to remove the ATM door by attaching a chain to their vehicle and pulling it off. The suspects gathered up the cash and fled the scene in a white quad cab GMC/Chevrolet pickup truck.

Extensive damage was caused to the storefront during the theft.

The investigation is still ongoing.
