Suspect charged following early morning dumpster fire

At approximately 2:15 a.m. today, there was a fire set in a large construction bin on Carden Street. Guelph Fire attended and quickly put out the fire that is estimated to cost $5,000 in damages and cleanup.

The suspect was recorded on video and when police arrived to investigate, the suspect was still in the area and was arrested.

Danny McKinnon, a 50-year-old Guelph man was charged with arson and later released to appear in court in Jan. 2018.
