Suspect ‘emptied the safe’ during early morning break-in

A quantity of cash was taken when a thief “emptied the safe” of a business early Friday morning, say police.

Officers were called to Woolwich Street business, near Speedvale Avenue West, at about 3:20 a.m. The owner reported a break-in occurred two hours earlier, notes a Guelph police news release.

Video surveillance reportedly shows a male using a tool to pry open an outside door at about 1:15 a.m. Inside an office, the pried open a second door and removed cash from a safe.

At the time of the break-in, the suspect was wearing a black hoodie with the hood up, blue jeans, white and grey shoes, black gloves and a black backpack.
