Suspects smash through cement wall to steal $10,000 in cigarettes and cash

TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH-ERAMOSA - On Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019 at approximately 8 a.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a break and enter into a business located on Wellington Road 124 at Wellington Road 32.

Investigation revealed that sometime between Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019 at 9:30 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019 at 8 a.m., unknown suspects smashed through the cement wall with a sledge hammer and gained entry into the business.

Suspects stole approximately $10,000 in cigarettes and currency and fled the scene.

The Wellington County OPP Community Street Crime Unit continues to investigate and is asking anyone who may have noticed any suspicious persons or vehicles, or may have any information regarding this incident to contact them at 1-888-310-1122.
