Suspicious vehicle stop leads to charges

Investigation revealed a discrepancy with the registration of the vehicle

On Feb. 23, 2018 at approximately 1:15 a.m., while on routine patrol, Guelph police officers observed a suspicious vehicle on Farquhar Street. Investigation revealed a discrepancy with the registration of the vehicle. A traffic stop was conducted on Farquhar Street and a male driver was spoken to.

As a result of this investigation, the 29-year-old male driver was arrested and charged with breaching an order of recognizance, possession of stolen property and possession of a controlled substance.

A 24-year-old female passenger was also arrested and charged with breaching an Order of Recognizance, possession of stolen property and possession of a controlled substance.

Both individuals were held for a bail hearing.
