Teens accused of ruining resin

TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON - On May 16, 2017 at approximately 2:25 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of two youths causing damage to items inside a building at 865 Gartshore Street, Fergus.

An employee had entered the building and heard two female voices. The employee witnessed one of the females walk over to a bag of resin and slit it open with a knife. The employee shouted at the two females who then stopped.

Police attended and the investigation revealed that approximately 48 bags of resin had been damaged with a cost over $50,000. Two fire extinguishers had also been emptied inside the building. Entry was gained through a broken rear window.

Two female youths of Fergus, age 14, were charged with mischief over $5,000 and break/enter a place to commit an indictable offence. They are scheduled to appear in Youth Court June 28, 2017.
