Thieves reportedly cut hole in building to gain access

Cash and cell phones were taken from a north end business, say police

Guelph police are investigating two commercial break and enters, including one in which the suspects cut a hole in the building to gain access.

On Monday morning police were called to a commercial building on Woodlawn Road West near Nicklin Road. Staff reported they arrived to work to find a hole cut in the side of the building. Officers observed metal siding had been removed and a hole cut in the drywall underneath allowing access.

Cash and three company cell phones were stolen.

On Tuesday morning, approximately 3:50 a.m., police were dispatched to an alarm call at a business on Woodlawn Road West near Silvercreek Parkway North and arrived to find a large window smashed and a back door open. It is unknown at this time if anything was stolen.
